Breaking Time

Breaking Time

“Eternity is in love with the productions of time.”

“Each day has a moment of eternity waiting for you.” William Blake

The idea is to break time.

Break through the spell,

the spell of linear time. Divide

breaths, deep and long. Divide

the bleeding heart and beats of the quark.

In thought, as this is written

between the lines, stop time.

In musical notation, hold the maths

notes in suspension. Once upon a time.

A novel, novel idea runs in hero narratives on time

and takes you to that time, that is timeless time.

Gather in flow to divide from the spellbound world.

In the meantime, you sentimentalize and philosophize.

Bound in the arms of Morpheus, dream of a son.

Bless the space between new moons.

Pull the magic carpet on the feet and hands of time,

bound in the arms of a grandchild’s imagination.

A child at play has a whole world of names to destroy time.

Turn back on this body, walk, and learn something new.

There is another world right next door.

With the weight of history on our shoulders,

stuck and trapped in this time-bound world, cast spells

breaking time. It does not have to rhyme

until the hour. Touch the other world within this world.

The other world of myth, imagination, beauty, truth and love.

Each day, take the moment of eternity that waits for you.

Touch eternity. Slip away. Break time.
